Write discharge instructions
The discharge sheet is the printed page a client takes home after a visit: your written home-care instructions, plus the visit's plan, medications and vaccines. You write the instructions once and can reprint the sheet any time.
Open the discharge sheet
Open the visit's appointment and select Discharge. The button appears once the visit has been started.
The sheet has your practice's name, phone number and address at the top, then the patient, the owner it's for, the visit date and the attending vet. Under that:

The plan, medications and vaccines are read from the visit each time you open the sheet, so a prescription added later shows up on the next print. Only the home-care instructions are saved with the sheet.
Write the home-care instructions
Veterinarians and vet techs can write instructions. Everyone else sees the sheet without the editing box.
- Type the instructions for the client in Home-care instructions under Write / edit home-care instructions.
- Select Save instructions.
You'll see Discharge instructions saved. and the text appears on the sheet with your name and the time it was last updated. To change it later, edit the text in the same box and save again.
The box can't be saved empty. If you select Save instructions with nothing typed, you'll see "Home-care instructions cannot be empty. Type the narrative before saving."
Print the sheet
- Select Print this sheet.
Only the sheet itself prints. The buttons, the editing box and the author line are left off the page.
