In Vivetra: Coggins & travel papers

On this page

Coggins & travel papers shows, for each horse, whether its EIA (Coggins) test and health certificate are current, plus the full history the practice holds. Check it before you book a show, a sale or a trip.

Check where a horse stands

  1. Select Coggins & travel papers in the portal menu.

Coggins and travel papers for each horse

The top of each horse's card answers the question in one line:

Pill What it means
Valid to and a date Current.
Expires and a date Still valid, but expiring soon.
Expired and a date No longer valid. You'll need a new one before travelling.
No expiry on file The practice hasn't recorded an expiry date. Ask them.
Nothing on file No test or certificate on record for this horse.

A Coggins result still waiting on the lab says the lab hasn't reported back yet. A positive result asks you to call the practice before you move the horse.

Get papers brought up to date

  1. If a horse needs a new test or certificate, select Ask us to come out on its card. This opens the farm call request form (see Request a farm call).

The link only shows when your practice takes farm call requests online.

The full history

Below the summary, each card has tables for EIA (Coggins) tests (date, result, expiry, lab, accession number, reason and who submitted it) and Health certificates (issue and expiry dates, destination, purpose, standard or Extended (EECVI), certificate number, the Coggins it used, and the vet). Some practices also show Other movement documents, such as passports.
