Review contact-change requests

Contact-Change Requests holds new email addresses, phone numbers and addresses that owners suggested through the portal. Nothing reaches the owner's record until someone on staff applies it here.

Owners now update their own details directly in the portal, so this list is mostly older suggestions waiting to be closed, plus the history of ones already handled. When an owner phones in a change, edit their record instead (see Work with an owner's record › Edit the owner's details).

Anyone can read the list. Applying or declining needs permission to edit owner records, which front desk staff and practice managers have.

Find a request

1. Select Contact-Change Requests in the Vet Practice group of the menu.
2. The list opens on Pending. Use the Pending, Applied, Declined and All links to see the others.

Each request shows the owner, what kind of change it is (Email, Phone or Address), Current on file: and Proposed:. Client inactive means the owner's record has been deactivated.

Apply an email or phone change

1. Select Apply email or Apply phone and confirm.

The new value replaces the old one on the owner's record straight away.

Apply an address change

Owners send an address as one line of text, so you type it into the proper fields yourself.

1. Type the Proposed: address into Address line 1 (required), then Address line 2, City, the state or province, and Postal code as needed.
2. Select Apply address.

Decline a request

1. Optionally explain why in Decline note (optional).
2. Select Decline.

The owner's record isn't changed. Handled requests show who dealt with them and when.

If you see That suggestion was already handled by someone else — refresh to see its current state., a colleague got there first; nothing more to do.
