In Vivetra: Estimates

On this page

When your vet recommends treatment, the practice may send you an estimate to look over in the portal. You can see what's included and the price range, then approve it with an electronic signature or decline it.

An estimate is a price range, not a bill. Nothing is charged until the work is done and the practice sends you an invoice.

See your estimates

Select Estimates in the portal menu. Each estimate shows the date, the pet, what it's for, the Estimated range and a status:

Status What it means
Needs your OK Waiting for you to approve or decline it.
You approved this It's been approved.
Declined It's been declined. Nothing is booked or charged.
Out of date It's past its Valid until date. Call the practice for an up-to-date one.

Select View to open one. Under What's included you'll see each item, its quantity and its own range, with the Estimated total at the bottom.

Approve an estimate

  1. Open the estimate and select Approve & sign. The Approve this estimate screen shows what you're agreeing to, then explains Signing electronically.
  2. Read it, then tick I've read the above and I'm happy to sign electronically.
  3. Type your name in Type your full name to sign. Sign however you normally would; the screen shows the name the practice has on file for you.
  4. Select Sign and approve. You go back to the estimate, which now says Approved.

Not ready? Select Cancel to go back without signing.

Decline an estimate

  1. Open the estimate and select Or decline this estimate.
  2. Choose a reason in Why?: The cost is more than we can do right now, We'd like a second opinion first or Something else.
  3. If you like, add a note in Anything you'd like us to know? (optional). The practice reads it but won't reply in the portal.
  4. Select Decline this estimate.

You'll see Thanks — we've noted that. Nothing is booked and nothing is charged. If you change your mind, call the practice.

When there's no Approve button

Approve & sign only appears while an estimate is waiting for you and still in date. Otherwise the estimate tells you why:

Message What it means
This estimate is out of date. Prices move, so the practice would rather redo it. Give them a call.
This estimate isn't set up for approving online. The practice needs to go through this one with you directly.
Someone on this pet's record already approved this estimate. Another person who shares this pet's record got there first.

If more than one person is on your pet's record, any of you can approve or decline an estimate, and the first decision counts.
