Plan a livestock farm call

A farm call is one stop at a premises: the date, the attending vet and a single travel fee. The visits for the animals you see there are grouped under it, so the travel fee is charged once for the stop, not once per animal.

By default, veterinarians, front-desk coordinators and practice managers can create farm calls and add visits to them. Everyone can see them.

Create a farm call

1. Select Livestock Farm Calls in the Livestock menu.
2. Under Create a farm call, check the Call date.
3. Choose the Premises (optional — a registered location).
4. Choose the Attending vet (optional).
5. Choose the Travel-fee basis: Flat, Mileage or Hourly.
6. Enter the Travel fee, and the mileage or hours if you track them.
7. Select Create farm call.

A farm call can be created offline and syncs when you're back in signal.

Open a farm call

1. Under All farm calls, select View on the call.

The page shows the call's details and lists the Visits at this stop.

Add a visit for an animal

1. On the farm call, under Record a visit for a Tier-1 animal at this stop, choose the Tier-1 animal.
2. Select Record visit at this stop.

If someone other than the stop's attending vet saw the animal, change Visit vet (optional — defaults to this stop's attending vet) first.

Only individually tracked animals can have visits (see Track an individual animal).

Attach a visit you've already recorded

If a visit was recorded on its own, you can group it under the stop.

1. Under Assign an existing visit to this stop, type an animal, operation or farm client in Find a visit (animal, operation, or farm client) and select Filter.
2. Choose the Visit.
3. Select Assign to this stop.

Assigning needs a live connection, because Vivetra checks the visit isn't already on another stop.

Bill the stop

When you create an invoice, pick this stop in Farm call (optional — the stop this bill came from) (see Bill a farm client).
